Whole-Person Solutions for Headache Management: Blending Manual Therapy and Behavioral Medicine

At the conclusion of this course, participants will be able to:

1. Differentiate between primary and secondary headache types and correlate these classifications with relevant structural and neuromusculoskeletal findings.

2. Analyze the neuromusculoskeletal and biopsychosocial factors contributing to headache disorders within an integrative, whole-person model of care.

3. Apply evidence-based behavioral medicine techniques, including cognitive-behavioral therapy, biofeedback, and relaxation strategies, in conjunction with manual therapy approaches.

4. Evaluate patients for neuromusculoskeletal dysfunction contributing to headache pathology using structured musculoskeletal and neurologic examination techniques, including cranial palpation and assessment of body–organ interaction patterns.
