Michigan Physician Assistant Standard Renewal Requirements: Michigan Physician Assistants renew their licenses every three years as of 2024. Although Michigan does not mandate general continuing education hours for PAs, there are required trainings in implicit bias (1 hour annually after initial licensure), human trafficking identification (one-time training), and opioid/controlled substances awareness every renewal cycle. PAs with DEA registration must also complete a one-time 8-hour training on treating opioid or substance use disorders. NCCPA certification maintenance can be recognized for license renewal. The renewal application and fees are submitted online via MiPLUS
