At least 3.5 hours of controlled substance prescribing CME every renewal cycle, including a one-time SBIRT training
Utah Medical Doctor Standard Renewal Requirements: Medical Doctors in Utah renew their licenses every two years by January 31 of even-numbered years, completing 40 hours of CME every 2 years with at least 34 hours in Category 1 CME accredited by ACCME/AOA. Prescribers of controlled substances must complete 3.5 hours of controlled substance prescribing CME, including a one-time SBIRT training, every renewal cycle. Online suicide prevention training qualifies as CME credit. Specialty board certification can also fulfill CME requirements.
