Vermont Medical Doctor Standard Renewal Requirements: Medical Doctors in Vermont must renew their license biennially by November 30th of even-numbered years, completing 30 hours of CME during the two-year cycle. This includes 1 hour in palliative care, hospice, or pain management and 2 hours in safe prescribing of controlled substances for DEA-registered physicians. CME must consist of AMA or AOA-approved courses, or board pre-approved programs to fulfill licensure requirements. These detailed requirements are established by the Vermont Board of Medical Practice Vermont Board of Medical Practice Licensing and Vermont Medical Society CME .
