Course description
This activity prepares healthcare professionals to recognize, manage, and respond to Ebola virus disease in light of the 2026 Bundibugyo outbreak in the Democratic Republic of the Congo and Uganda. It moves from the virology, transmission, and clinical course of the disease through evidence-based treatment, vaccination, and infection prevention, and on to the Identify, Isolate, Inform response framework, public health notification, and the long-term care of survivors. The central clinical skill in this course is species-aware action: suspect Ebola from the exposure history, isolate before certainty, notify public health early, and let species confirmation guide which countermeasures are appropriate.
Ebola outbreaks increasingly intersect with everyday clinical practice, yet most U.S. clinicians will rarely, if ever, see a case, which makes early recognition both critical and difficult. The 2026 Bundibugyo virus disease outbreak in the Democratic Republic of the Congo and Uganda showed how quickly Ebola response guidance, case counts, travel notices, and testing considerations can change during an active outbreak. Because no approved vaccine or treatment exists for the Bundibugyo strain, frontline recognition, isolation, supportive care, staff protection, and survivor support carry the weight of the response. Clinicians need a current, practical update that turns evolving Centers for Disease Control and World Health Organization guidance and recent research into the decisions they would actually face, so that a suspected case is caught and contained rather than missed.

I appreciate the convenience of the course being online and accessible through my phone and that it directly reports to CEBroker to support mandated education requirements.
I really loved this information. I was hospitalized last year for almost a month and I noticed multiple medical errors (not being hooked up to my IV multiple times, given wrong medication which caused my sodium to be very low, etc.) which lengthened my stay. I can now define those exact errors and better understand what happened to me. I hate that these medical errors are so common and I appreciate how well laid out your breakdown and categorization of them was.
