Pharmacy Verification Technicians need: 4 Hours Patient Safety CE Every 2 Years
Remote Dispensing Site Pharmacy Technicians need: 2 Hours Remote Dispensing Site Pharmacy Practice CE Every 2 Years in addition to the 20 standard hours.
How many CE hours do Arizona Technicians need?
Every Arizona pharmacy technician must complete 20 contact hours of continuing education per 2-year renewal period, from an Arizona Board of Pharmacy-approved provider, to satisfy Arizona pharmacy technician license renewal. Arizona sets no live-instruction minimum for pharmacy technician CE, so all 20 hours may be completed online at your own pace with an accredited package like the Arizona 20-Hr Package . Within the 20 hours, all Arizona pharmacy technicians must complete 3 hours on Arizona opioid and controlled substance CE for pharmacy technicians every renewal cycle. Certified (CPhT) technicians are required 20 CE hours every 2 years to their national certifying body. The national certification requirement runs alongside, not in place of, Arizona's own state requirement. Technicians who administer immunizations or vaccines must complete 2 hours of immunization CE for pharmacy technicians , counting toward the total.
Verification technicians must complete 4 hours of patient safety CE for pharmacy technicians , counting toward the total.
Remote dispensing site technicians must complete 2 hours of remote dispensing site pharmacy practice CE, in addition to the standard 20-hour total, for a 22-hour requirement.
