Colorado Dentist Standard Renewal Requirements: Colorado dentists must complete 30 hours of Board-approved CE every two years to maintain an active license. At least half of all hours (15) must be live and interactive, and a minimum of 16 hours must be devoted to clinical or science-based content. Current BLS certification (counting up to 2 CE hours) is mandatory, and every dentist must also log at least one hour of substance-use-prevention education in each renewal cycle. Teaching, anesthesia-permit coursework, and other Board-approved activities can be credited within the 30-hour limit, provided documentation is retained for two renewal periods.
