  • First-time renewal: No separate requirement — new LPNs must still fulfill two of the competency options if licensed ⩾ 90 days before Nov 30

  • Certification alternative: No certification or credential substitutes CE—LPNs must meet two of the competency options defined above .

  • In lieu of CE, LPNs may complete any two of three under 12 AAC 44.600–44.640:

    • 30 CE contact hours

    • 30 hours of uncompensated professional activities

    • 320 hours of compensated nursing employment

    • Also, a Board‑approved refresher course, ≥6 academic credits, or NCLEX completion qualifies
