State requirements for Arizona Licensed Practical Nurses
Arizona LPN Standard Renewal Requirements: Arizona Licensed Practical Nurses must renew their license every four years. There is no set requirement for CE hours; instead, LPNs must have practiced as a nurse for 960 hours in the last 5 years, received a qualifying nursing degree, completed a Board-approved refresher course, or obtained an advanced nursing degree within the last 5 years. There are no mandated topics or in-person hours, and no general CE hours are required if practice requirements are met. Complete and current information is available from the
Arizona Board of Nursing.
---
First-time renewal: Same renewal criteria apply; no separate CE requirements—must meet one of the practice or education pathways -
