Arizona Dentist Standard Renewal Requirements: Arizona dentists must complete 63 hours of Board-recognized CE every three years and renew their license by the last day of their birth-month, 30 days before automatic expiration. Required coursework includes opioid prescribing, infection control, CPR/ACLS/PALS and ethics or state jurisprudence (3 hours each), while at least 42 hours must be taken in interactive or live formats because self-study is capped at 21 hours. Clinical subjects must make up 36 or more hours, and practice-management topics may not exceed 15 hours per cycle. Dentists can count teaching, publications, charitable service and sedation-permit coursework toward the total so long as all activities meet R4-11-1201-1209 standards.
