Total Hours Required:0 Hours
Required Courses:None
  • First-time renewal: Brand-new Indiana pharmacy technicians owe zero CE hours at their first June 30 deadline.

  • Certification rule" Indiana issues only certified technician licenses. To renew you must keep either:

    • An active PTCB or ExCPT credential, or

    • Proof you completed an Indiana-Board-approved technician-training program. Lose the national cert or let the training permit lapse, and the license cannot be renewed.

  • Immunization authority: Under 856 IAC 4 (latest emergency & interim rules), a technician may give vaccines only when all of these are true:

    • Holds an active Indiana technician certificate and national CPhT (PTCB/ExCPT).

    • Completes a Board-approved, hands-on immunization training course.

    • Maintains current CPR/BLS and documents OSHA blood-borne-pathogen training.

    • Works under the direct supervision of an immunization-certified pharmacist, following a written delegation protocol that lists the specific vaccines and patient ages allowed.
