State requirements for Vermont Physician Assistants
2 hours every renewal cycle on safe prescribing of controlled substances (DEA-registered PAs)
Vermont Physician Assistant Standard Renewal Requirements: Physician Assistants in Vermont renew their licenses every two years by January 31 of even-numbered years and must complete 100 hours of CME every 2 years, including at least 50 hours Category 1 AMA PRA credits or equivalent. PAs with DEA registration are required to complete 2 hours of safe prescribing of controlled substances CME every renewal cycle and a one-time 8-hour opioid/substance use disorder CME starting from June 27, 2023. Maintenance of NCCPA certification satisfies CME requirements except for the mandatory controlled substances education.
