  • Utah Physician Assistant Standard Renewal Requirements: Physician Assistants in Utah must renew their licenses every two years by May 31 of even-numbered years, completing 40 hours of CME per cycle, with at least 34 hours in AMA PRA Category 1 or equivalent. Controlled substance prescribers are required to complete 3.5 hours of CME on controlled substances prescribing every renewal period, including a one-time SBIRT training. Specialty board certification is accepted as CME fulfillment. These standards are enforced by Utah's Division of Occupational and Professional Licensing (DOPL)
