Standard Renewal Requirements

Every Florida pharmacist must complete 30 hours of approved continuing education within the 24 months prior to license expiration, to satisfy Florida pharmacist license renewal. Florida no longer sets a live-instruction minimum for pharmacists, so all 30 hours may be completed through home study or online courses like the Florida Pharmacist CE Package . Within the 30 hours, Florida pharmacists must complete 2 hours on Florida medication errors CE and 2 hours on controlled substance CE , every renewal period.

First-Time Requirements

If the first renewal falls less than 12 months after initial licensure, no continuing education is required for that renewal.

If the first renewal falls 12 months or more after initial licensure, pharmacists must complete 15 hours total, including 1 hour of HIV/AIDS CE , 2 hours of medication errors CE , and 2 hours of controlled substance CE . Florida Board of Pharmacy — Pharmacist Renewal

Verification and Reporting
