Virginia Pharmacy Standard Renewal Requirements: Virginia pharmacists must complete 15 contact hours of approved continuing education annually, with at least 3 hours delivered live or in real time , by December 31 each year. Up to two hours can be earned through qualifying volunteer service or preceptor activities. Pharmacists must attest to CE completion at renewal and retain documentation for two years in case of audit. Virginia Board of Pharmacy

First‑time renewal: The 15-hour requirement applies at each annual renewal. Virginia's regulation does not provide a first-renewal CE exemption; the board may grant an extension for good cause. 18VAC110-21-120

Verification and reporting: Virginia DHP does not use a state-wide CE Tracking system however CPE Monitor is the recommended tool. You attest to compliance at each annual renewal, and the board may audit your previous two years of CE. Retain your original certificates for two years following renewal. 18VAC110-21-120
