How many CE hours do Michigan dentists need?

Michigan dentist CE totals 60 hours of continuing education every 3 years, counted from the anniversary of the date your license was first issued ( Mich. Admin. Code R 338.11701 ; Michigan Board of Dentistry ). There is no reduced first-cycle figure, so the full 60 hours apply from your first renewal. Which CE topics are required for Michigan dentists?

Every renewal you need 3 hours of Pain and Symptom Management , 1 hour of Dental Ethics and Jurisprudence including delegation to allied dental personnel, and 1 hour of Infection Control covering handpiece sterilization, PPE and CDC guidelines ( R 338.11701 ). A one-time Human Trafficking Identification Training is a standing licensure condition that does not count toward the 60 hours, and 3 hours of Implicit Bias Training are required in addition to the 60 ( R 338.7004 ; Michigan Dental Association ). You must also hold current BLS or ACLS certification, and a dentist with a DEA registration completes the federal DEA MATE training once ( DEA MATE Act FAQ ).

Does Michigan accept AGD PACE credit?

Yes. The Michigan Dental Association tells dentists to take courses approved by the ADA, AGD or the Michigan Board of Dentistry ( Michigan Dental Association ). Does Michigan use CE Broker?

Michigan dentists self-attest to CE at renewal.
