Required Courses:
  • 2 hours in

  • 6 hours in anesthesia/sedation administration and management (For those holding sedation permits)

  • Minimum 3 hours biennially on prescribing opiates and controlled substances, including 0.5 hours on the prescription drug monitoring program

  • Hands-on ACLS certification (8 hours) required for moderate and general sedation permits

  • 30 hours every 2 years. Up to 15 hours may be completed via home study or online courses.

  • Sedation: Sedation permit holders must complete 6 hours of CE in anesthesia/sedation administration and management; moderate/general sedation permit holders must also complete 8 hours of hands-on ACLS.

  • Dispensing: Dentists must complete 3 hours biennially on prescribing opiates and controlled substances, including prescription drug monitoring program education.
