About this course

In 2014, a much-anticipated update to the 2003 JNC guidelines for hypertensive management were released. The 2014 update was met with mixed responses in the medical community and was further complicated by the results of the SPRINT trial in 2015. To address areas of controversy, a multi-organization consensus guideline was released in 2017. After an 11 year period of consistency, the plethora of guidelines releases has resulted in confusion in the clinical community. This activity will provide a clear overview of updated recommendations with a focus on drug therapy. It is relevant for new and experienced pharmacists, pharmacy technicians, nurses, and advanced practice providers.

I really loved this information. I was hospitalized last year for almost a month and I noticed multiple medical errors (not being hooked up to my IV multiple times, given wrong medication which caused my sodium to be very low, etc.) which lengthened my stay. I can now define those exact errors and better understand what happened to me. I hate that these medical errors are so common and I appreciate how well laid out your breakdown and categorization of them was.
