Georgia Licensed Practical Nurse Standard Renewal Requirements: Licensed Practical Nurses in Georgia must renew their licenses every two years by March 31. Renewal requires completing 20 contact hours of continuing education approved by recognized providers within each renewal period. There are no mandatory continuing education topics or required in-person hours for LPNs, allowing flexibility to choose courses relevant to their nursing practice. Alternatively, completion of an accredited nursing program may fulfill the continuing education requirement. Detailed guidelines and renewal instructions are available from the Georgia Board of Nursing and related educational platforms ( Georgia Board of Nursing ).
