2 hours of CME related to prescribing and monitoring controlled substances every renewal cycle
South Carolina Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine Standard Renewal Requirements: Doctors of Osteopathic Medicine in South Carolina must renew licenses biennially by June 30 of even years, completing 40 hours of AMA PRA Category 1™ and/or AOA Category 1 CME every two years. Of these, 30 hours should be specialty-related CME, and a minimum of 2 hours of CME focused on controlled substance prescribing and pain management is mandatory every cycle. No minimum live or in-person CME is specified. CME courses must be accredited by recognized osteopathic or allopathic bodies. These requirements are overseen by the South Carolina Board of Medical Examiners and state regulations South Carolina Board of Medical Examiners
