Nebraska Dental Hygienist Standard Renewal Requirements: Nebraska dental hygienists must complete 30 hours of Board-approved continuing education every 2 years, with no more than 10 hours from home study and at least 2 hours in infection control. Additional limits apply to public health, ethics/professionalism, volunteering, presenting, and other categories. Expanded function permit holders must complete 2 hours of CE for each function held. I was hospitalized last year for almost a month and I noticed multiple medical errors (not being hooked up to my IV multiple times, given wrong medication which caused my sodium to be very low, etc.) which lengthened my stay. I can now define those exact errors and better understand what happened to me.
