Arizona Dental Hygienist Standard Renewal Requirements: Arizona hygienists must complete 45 hours of Board-recognized continuing education every three years and file renewal by the end of their birth-month, 30 days before automatic expiration. At least 30 hours must be live or interactive, as self-study is capped at 15 hours. Required content includes infection-control, CPR/BLS (with hands-on component) and a trio of hours in Ethics , risk management, AZ jurisprudence or chemical-dependency-related topics. Clinical subjects must total at least 25 hours, while practice-management is limited to 11; additional credit is available for teaching, publications, volunteer charitable care and similar activities that meet R4-11-1209 standards.
