Artificial intelligence is profoundly changing a wide range of industries, including the healthcare industry. One of its numerous applications within healthcare is with medical writing and communications. AI tools are already being used for literature searches, referencing, creating articles, and even for regulatory writing. Future directions are numerous and clinical applications and EMR integration are possible. As healthcare providers, we need to stay up-to-date on this rapidly changing technology so they can be better prepared as it becomes a more integral part of practice.
This continuing education activity will introduce pharmacists to AI-assisted medical writing. We'll look at how AI writers can be used to create articles and other forms of medical communication. We'll also explore the different types of writers (article writers, chat writers, and writers trained on the user's data) and their advantages and disadvantages.
