About this course

Understanding the nuances of pharmacologic management of dyslipidemia is crucial for healthcare professionals, particularly given the limitations and challenges associated with statin therapy alone. This knowledge gap not only affects prescribing patterns but also influences the overall management of dyslipidemia, a key risk factor for atherosclerotic cardiovascular disease (ASCVD). To bridge this educational gap, this course aims to provide an in-depth review of evidence-based literature on non-statin agents. The course discusses the specific clinical indications where non-statin medication is beneficial and explores the various pharmacologic options available for reducing LDL-C, mitigating ASCVD risk, managing severe hypertriglyceridemia, and lowering the risk of pancreatitis. Through this course, healthcare professionals will gain the tools necessary to make informed, patientcentered decisions in dyslipidemia management.

I really loved this information. I was hospitalized last year for almost a month and I noticed multiple medical errors (not being hooked up to my IV multiple times, given wrong medication which caused my sodium to be very low, etc.) which lengthened my stay. I can now define those exact errors and better understand what happened to me. I hate that these medical errors are so common and I appreciate how well laid out your breakdown and categorization of them was.
