New York State does not impose a continuing education hour requirement on Licensed Practical Nurses. Instead, LPNs must renew their registration every three years through the New York State Education Department (NYSED) Office of the Professions, pay the $73 renewal fee, and complete NYSED-approved infection control coursework every four years. First-time renewal: The second registration after licensure is shortened to align the re-registration period with the licensee's birth month, and the fee is prorated accordingly.
