Verified reviewState requirements for Illinois Licensed Practical Nurses
Illinois Licensed Practical Nurse Standard Renewal Requirements: Illinois LPNs must renew their license every two years by January 31 of odd-numbered years and complete 20 hours of approved CE per cycle. Mandatory topics within the 20-hour total include at least one hour each of sexual harassment prevention and implicit bias every cycle, dementia care every six years, and additional required topics as outlined by state regulations. National certification may count for up to half of the hours. Full, current requirements are detailed on the Illinois LPN continuing education page .
