14 Live Hours
Infection Control (every 4 years)
Child Abuse Identification and Reporting training (2 hours, one-time, required EVERY hygienist to complete a new curriculum by April 1, 2025)
New York Dental Hygienist Standard Renewal Requirements: New York dental hygienists are required to complete 24 CE hours every three years, including 14 live, interactive hours, and must fulfill mandatory infection control and child abuse recognition training, both of which are specified by state law. The new mandated child abuse curriculum must be completed by April 1, 2025, for continued licensure. Full details are available on the NYDHA requirements page and the NYSED official FAQ .

First-time renewal: Dental hygienists are exempt from CE requirements for the first triennial cycle but must complete mandatory child abuse and infection control training before starting practice. NYDHA
