Every hygienist completes 2 hours of chemical dependency education within the 30-hour total ( Tennessee Department of Health, Dentistry Licensure ). Every hygienist also maintains current CPR certification and the Board's Jurisprudence Exam at every renewal. A hygienist seeking Limited Prescriptive Authority completes a Board-approved prescribing course plus 2 hours of pharmacology CE after at least 1,600 hours of active practice.
