Required Courses:

An active license must be renewed in

every two years before the expiration date. During renewal, you are asked to attest that you have completed the required continuing professional education units (CPE). You are also required to maintain current CPR certification. After the renewal, a percentage of licensees are randomly selected for audit of CPE and CPR. Retain copies of your CPE completion certificates in the event you are selected for audit, but do not send any documentation to the Board office unless you receive an audit letter. If this is your
first renewal
, and you are licensed:

  • less than one year – you are not required to do CPE

  • more than one year, but less than two years – you are required to complete one-half of the required hours of approved CPE

In addition to the CPE, all licensees must provide evidence that they have successfully completed a current course in cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR).
