Alaska LPN Standard Renewal Requirements: Alaska Licensed Practical Nurses must renew their license every two years by September 30 of even-numbered years. In each renewal period, LPNs must complete two of the following: 30 hours of continuing education, 320 hours of nursing employment, or 30 hours of approved volunteer/professional nursing activities. I was hospitalized last year for almost a month and I noticed multiple medical errors (not being hooked up to my IV multiple times, given wrong medication which caused my sodium to be very low, etc.) which lengthened my stay. I can now define those exact errors and better understand what happened to me. I hate that these medical errors are so common and I appreciate how well laid out your breakdown and categorization of them was.
