A recent survey demonstrated that <20% of pharmacists surveyed participated in research. However, direct experience with this process is vital for clinicians in the provision of evidence-based care. Furthermore, many principles of this method are required for pharmacists in all settings in that quality improvement is a core job function of many pharmacists. Practical pearls to make the process more user-friendly, efficient, and productive can reduce barriers to this important activity. This activity includes their direct application to pharmacist’s daily practice as well as providing general knowledge and review.
