Pharmacist Involvement in Continuous Glucose Monitoring for Patients with Diabetes
Learn about the latest continuous glucose monitoring technologies for diabetes management and how pharmacists can utilize them effectively.
About this course
In recent years, continuous glucose monitoring, flash glucose monitoring, and most recently implantable glucose monitoring have changed the way patients with diabetes monitor their glucose levels. This is an area where pharmacists can make a huge impact, and possibly could gain reimbursement for their services. Especially given the COVID-19 pandemic, utilizing continuous glucose monitors in the hospital setting has become a topic of research as well. Pharmacists need to be aware of these tools and how to utilize them. The activity will provide background information on the different devices available. The activity will then shift to focus on how to interpret the findings of the continuous glucose monitors. Pharmacists will be provided information on billing for the devices and services. Finally, pharmacists will be provided cases where they will apply what they learned during the activity. This self-paced course is available online through any device with internet access. There are unlimited test attempts and no time limit for completion. Credits will be reported automatically to CE Broker if your license information is entered properly in your profile.
