Wyoming Registered Nurse Standard Renewal Requirements: Wyoming RNs must renew their licenses every two years by December 31 of even-numbered years. For renewal, nurses must meet a continuing competency requirement, which can be satisfied by completing 400 hours of nursing practice, a mix of 200 practice hours and 15 hours of continuing education (CE), or 30 hours of CE if under 200 hours worked. There are no mandatory content or in-person CE hour requirements wsbn.wyo.gov

First-time renewal: If you obtain your RN license by exam (passing the NCLEX), you are not required to complete continued competency (practice hours or CE) for your first renewal period. Only pay the renewal fee and submit the application. wsbn.wyo.gov

Certification alternative: If you do not meet the practice hour or continuing education criteria, you may be required to complete a Board-approved refresher course before renewal or reinstatement. wsbn.wyo.gov
