Who needs it: nurse practitioners and other APRNs renewing national certification, and APRNs in states that require pharmacology hours for license or prescriptive authority renewal.
AANP (AANPCB): 100 contact hours every 5 years, at least 25 in advanced pharmacology.
ANCC: 75 contact hours every 5 years, at least 25 in pharmacotherapeutics.
AACN (acute care): 25 pharmacology hours per renewal cycle.
