Florida Emergency Medical Technician Standard Renewal Requirements: Emergency Medical Technicians (EMTs) in Florida must renew their certification every two years by May 31, participating in a Department of Health-approved 30-hour refresher program or passing a challenge exam. Required continuing education includes pediatric emergency topics for paramedics and prevention of medical errors.
