About this course
As an emergency medical professional, you will be called upon to respond to patients experiencing respiratory distress, and many of these calls will involve geriatric patients. The fact that older patients typically have multiple acute and chronic health conditions that can contribute to or exacerbate respiratory symptoms can make it more difficult to identify the underlying problem and provide the appropriate treatment. This course looks at the most common causes of acute respiratory distress in older patients as well as the steps that you should take to manage various types of geriatric respiratory emergencies.
