Illinois Emergency Medical Technician Standard Renewal Requirements: Illinois Emergency Medical Technicians (EMTs) must renew their license every 4 years by the expiration date, applying at least 30 days before expiration. The renewal requires completing 60 hours of continuing education covering both adult and pediatric care and maintaining a current CPR certification for healthcare providers. Renewal process includes submission of CE documentation, CPR card, and signed declarations through the EMS system or independently to the Illinois Department of Public Health .
