Tennessee Advanced Emergency Medical Technician Standard Renewal Requirements: Tennessee Advanced Emergency Medical Technician licenses renew every 24 months, expiring on the last day of the licensee’s birth month aligned to odd/even years. A total of 25 continuing education hours is required per renewal cycle, with at least 8 hours in pediatric-related topics. Half of the CE must be classroom-based with CAPCE F5 courses approved as classroom. Alternatives to CE hours include acceptable college credits or passing the National Registry Assessment Exam. All CE must be EMS related and relevant to the license level or lower
