Webinar description
For the past five decades, HIV infections have remained a central focus in medical research. The journey began in the early 1980s with the identification of opportunistic infections among immuno-compromised patients. Since then, landmark advancements have been made, including the development of six-month injectable treatments that offer 100% effectiveness in preventing HIV. Throughout this history, pharmacists have played a pivotal role in managing and supporting patients with HIV.
This webinar presents a chronological overview, tracing key developments from the 1980s to the present day. It comprehensively addresses all nine categories of pharmacotherapy associated with HIV care. Attendees will also receive valuable information on pre-exposure prophylaxis (PrEP) and post-exposure prophylaxis (PEP), equipping them to better support patients at risk of HIV infection.
In the absence of an HIV vaccine, the importance of pharmacists and pharmacy technicians is underscored. These professionals are essential in administering appropriate drug therapies for active HIV infections and in implementing strategies to prevent further transmission. Their expertise is critical in the ongoing effort to combat HIV effectively.

Very well written, easy to digest, time efficient, and straight to the point. Thank you!
I appreciate the convenience of the course being online and accessible through my phone and that it directly reports to CEBroker to support mandated education requirements.
I really loved this information. I was hospitalized last year for almost a month and I noticed multiple medical errors (not being hooked up to my IV multiple times, given wrong medication which caused my sodium to be very low, etc.) which lengthened my stay. I can now define those exact errors and better understand what happened to me. I hate that these medical errors are so common and I appreciate how well laid out your breakdown and categorization of them was.
