Total Hours Required:

Complete course work or training in Infection Control at initial licensure and every four years thereafter. In addition, there is a one-time requirement of 2 hours in Child Abuse Identification and Reporting.

Next Renewal Date:

Last day of birth month, every 3 years

Required Courses:

  • Infection Control – no hour requirement
  • 2 hours on Child Abuse Identification and Reporting (one-time requirement)

New York Licensed Practical Nurse

Total Hours Required:

Complete course work or training in Infection Control at initial licensure and every four years thereafter.

Last day of birth month, every 3 years

Required Courses:

  • Infection Control – no hour requirement

New York Advanced Practice Registered Nurse

Total Hours Required:

3 contact hours for NPs authorized to prescribe controlled substances

Next Renewal Date:

Last day of birth month, every 3 years

Required Courses:

  • 3 hours in Pain Management, Palliative Care, and Addiction – for NPs authorized to prescribe controlled substances
