Washington Licensed Mental Health Counselor Standard Renewal Requirements: Licensed Mental Health Counselors in Washington must renew their licenses annually by their birthday, maintaining 36 contact hours of continuing education every two years. Among these, 6 hours must focus on professional ethics and law, and a 3-hour course on suicide assessment, screening, and management is also required biennially. There is no minimum live CE hour requirement, and continuing education can be completed through approved providers via various delivery methods.
