2 hours in Medical Errors
Florida Speech-Language Pathologist Standard Renewal Requirements: Speech-Language Pathologists in Florida are required to renew their licenses every two years on December 31 of odd-numbered years by completing 30 continuing education hours among which 18 must be clinically related and up to 10 may be general elective hours. Additionally, each licensee must complete a mandatory 2-hour course on Prevention of Medical Errors every renewal cycle. There is no minimum requirement for live or in-person CE hours. These requirements are governed by the Florida Board of Speech-Language Pathology and Audiology as documented in Florida administrative code and official board resources

First-time renewal: Licensees initially licensed less than 6 months before the biennial expiration are exempt from CE; those licensed between 6 and 12 months prior must complete 20 CE hours including the mandatory 2 hours Prevention of Medical Errors.
