Florida Clinical Laboratory Technologist Standard Renewal Requirements: Clinical Laboratory Technologists in Florida must renew their licenses every two years by August 31. They need to complete 24 contact hours of continuing education per biennium, which includes specific required hours in medical errors, Florida laws and rules, and HIV/AIDS. There is no stated minimum for live or in-person hours. Licensees with specialties must complete at least one hour in each specialty area.
