Florida Certified Respiratory Therapist Standard Renewal Requirements: Active licensed certified respiratory therapists in Florida must renew their licenses biennially by completing 24 continuing education hours approved by the Board of Respiratory Care. There is no required minimum for live or in-person CE, though live formats are accepted. Licensees must complete mandatory courses including 2 hours on Florida laws and rules and 2 hours on prevention of medical errors, with an HIV/AIDS course required for the initial renewal.
