Implicit Bias Training – 1 hour for each year of the license cycle (typically 2 hrs per biennium).
One-time Human-Trafficking Training (must be completed before the first renewal if not already done).
Additional information
Michigan Licensed Practical Nurse Standard Renewal Requirements: Michigan Licensed Practical Nurses must renew their license every two years by March 31 of even-numbered years. Each renewal requires completing 25 contact hours of continuing education related to nursing practice, including at least 2 hours focused on pain and symptom management . Additionally, there is a one-time training requirement on identifying victims of human trafficking and mandated implicit bias training , which varies for initial and subsequent renewals. Nurses are responsible for maintaining documentation of completed continuing education, as the Board performs random audits ( Michigan Board of Nursing ).
