Massachusetts APRN Standard Renewal Requirements: Massachusetts APRNs renew their licenses every two years by their birthday in even-numbered years. To qualify for renewal, APRNs must complete 15 contact hours of Board-approved continuing education, including mandatory Domestic and Sexual Violence training each period and a one-time cognitive impairment course at first renewal or initial licensure. Additional opioid/pain management CE is required only for those with prescriptive authority, but no specific state-mandated hour requirement exists.
