Standard Renewal Requirements
Every Alaska pharmacy technician must complete 10 contact hours of continuing education per 2-year renewal period, from a Board-accepted provider, to satisfy Alaska pharmacy technician license renewal, or maintain current PTCB certification in place of the hour requirement. Alaska sets no live-instruction minimum for pharmacy technician CE, so all 10 hours may be completed through home study or online courses with an accredited package like the Alaska Pharmacy Technician Package .

First-Time Requirements
First-time technician renewal has an alternate pathway: instead of the 10-hour requirement, a technician may certify having read the applicable state statutes and regulations and submit a Board affidavit verifying their pharmacy technician training. 12 AAC 52.325(c)
