  • Florida Respiratory Care Practitioner Critical Care Standard Renewal Requirements: Respiratory Care Practitioner Critical Care licensees in Florida must renew their licenses every two years by May 31st of odd-numbered years. They are required to complete 24 hours of continuing education, including 2 hours each of Medical Errors and Florida Laws and Rules courses. There is no minimum live/in-person hour requirement, as online/home study courses are fully accepted without limitations. Up to 8 hours of CE may be earned by attending Board of Respiratory Care meetings. More details are available from the

  • First-time renewal: If initial licensure occurs in the latter half of the biennium, CE requirements are waived except for specified courses totaling 7 credits. Conversion from CRT to RRT does not exempt CE requirements.
