District of Columbia Speech-Language Pathologist Standard Renewal Requirements: Speech-Language Pathologists in the District of Columbia renew their license biennially by December 31 of the expiration year, with license expiration on the licensee’s birth month last day. Twenty continuing education hours are required per cycle, including 1 hour of ethics, 2 hours of LGBTQ cultural competency, and 10% of hours dedicated to public health priorities. There is no minimum live or in-person hour requirement, and no board-approved alternative CE options.
