Webinar description
The CE will provide an overview of the 2026 ADA updated guidelines in managing those with type 2 diabetes and comorbidities. It is meant to prepare the learner to optimize care for their patients by increasing their clinical acumen. The presentation will highlight certain sections from the ADA standards as well as review clinical trials that are shaping the way medications are being used to manage both type 2 diabetes and comorbidities, such as obesity, MACE, chronic kidney disease, and heart failure. This directly aligns with the emerging concept of holistic care for those with cardiorenal metabolic syndrome that has become a central topic in providing care to our patients.

Dr. Tim Brown is the Director of Interprofessional Education for the University of Georgia’s College of Pharmacy and a Professor in Pharmacology and Toxicology for Augusta University Medical College of Georgia and UGA Partnership. He received his doctorate from Campbell University School of Pharmacy and completed residency training at the Medical College of Virginia. In 2018, Brown was named the Ohio Health-System Pharmacist of the Year and received the Cleveland Clinic Akron General Graduate Medical Education Leader of the year award. He was also recognized by the American Academy of Family Physicians as the 2017 Outstanding Faculty for Live Activities. Brown is a past board member of the American Society of Health System Pharmacists and is recognized nationally as a leader within Ambulatory Care Practice. Dr. Brown is the co-editor of the two books designed to help others build their Ambulatory Care practice models and is the host of the podcast, “PharmCast for the Community.”
